Whispers Shows True Form for Hannah

Vanita had been invited to take part in the Champion of Champions at Brightwell Auction this weekend and we were getting very excited about the trip.

This is a new competition run by invitation only, for horses that were bought from the auction and had won a championship.

The classes were all to music with levels; Medium, Advanced Medium, and Prix St Georges.

Vanita’s management means he has to have his time in the field and in the week in the run up to the event he managed to hurt himself.

We were so keen to go that we offered a reserve choice in the form of Whispers, bought from the auction by Laura Woodcock with the view to do Young Riders when the mare was ready.

She has won the Regional’s at Preliminary and Novice and was placed second and third at the Nationals and has a temperament to die for. However, she has never done a medium test before, but we thought the experience would do her good.

"What can I say" said Hannah, "she was superb. The judges say what they think over the microphone for the information of the audience and the comments nearly reduced Laura to tears!"

"Vanita’s music went with her footfall perfectly, and she gave me a lovely error-free test. She finished third in a class full of Advanced Medium champions. We certainly enjoyed the celebrations afterwards!"

One More To Go!

We were out competing recently at Field House Equestrian Centre, Uttoxeter, and were delighted with the team’s great success.

Not only was I on a winning streak but two of my pupils were also on great form.

Laura Woodcock with Whispers won both her Elementary classes with scores of more than 70%, and Jessica Strawson on Willability William won her Prelim class and came third in the other with a score of over 68%. Both girls are only 16 and rode very well.

I took Welkom for two Elementary classes and he was on good form winning both with 73% and 70% scores. Vanita followed competing in two Medium classes, and not letting the side down won both with a score over 70%.

I just need one more win on Welkom and then all my boys are qualified for all their levels.

It was a long day out on the road, but you don’t feel so tired when the results are good!
