Show rider Cassie Hartley is based with Katy Carter. She is having a great 2010 season. Supreme Products caught up with her to find out more.

About five years. I keep my horse here and also help out when I can.

Classic Coincidence (Digby) because he is mine and my mums! He is an Intermediate Riding Horse.

7. What is your favourite event?

Lincolnshire Show – we always do well there.

Meet the Katy Carter Show Team- Sheila Robinson

Sheila Robinson has been based with top show producer Katy Carter for four years. Here we find out more.

I have been a groom for 25 years and worked for Katy for the last four years.

6. Who is your favourite horse or pony on the yard and why?

Shamrock Lake Shirley Temple (Shirley for short), she is a gorgeous Palomino M&M, I love her colour.

7. What is your favourite event?

HOYS – there is always so much going on.

Robert Walker Wristlets.


As many of you will know, Robert Walker suffered a stoke last weekend aged only 35. One of the showing community's absolute 'greats' is in hospital, being subjected to lots of tests but battling on, planning his recovery and return to the saddle!

Great Start for Stanley Grange Show Team

The Stanley Grange Show Team, based at Great Ayton in North Yorkshire have had an excellent start to the season qualifying 12 horses and ponies for the Royal International Horse Show and one already for HOYS.

Midland Counties Success for Robert Walker

Robert Walker’s 2010 campaign continued at Midland Counties show at Uttoxeter with his string of horses again in the ribbons.

The Supreme Products sponsored rider took the honours with Jill Day’s middleweight hunter, Over The Rainbow and then went champion.

Said Robert: “Over the Rainbow has really matured this year and when he is presented for the ring, plaited up and groomed to show ring perfection he looks a picture. As he is dapple grey once he has been shampooed and we have applied hoof paint he really stands out.”

Robert then partnered the Maxi Cob, Tank Top, owned by Yorkie Jobling-Purser, to head a strong field, before taking the reserve champion rosette.

Katy Carter in Top Form!

Team Katy Carter has continued its winning form from the start of the season with wins and championships across the board.

The Supreme Products sponsored team took three wins and a championship at their local show, Staffordshire County, and were even bigger winners at Kings Heath when Cassie Hartley and Classic Coincidence took the Reserve Supreme Championship.

Said Katy: “So far the season is going really well. I have a superb back up team who are experts when it comes to pulling manes and tails, plaiting ponies, bathing them and making sure they are spotless. This is all helped by the products that are supplied by Supreme Products and we are delighted to be working so closely with them.”

'The Team have had an excellent start to the season and have been incredibly busy,' says Sarah Turnbull of Supreme Products. How to Get the Best out of Supreme Products Leg & Body Whitener

Supreme Products Leg & Body Whitener is the perfect product to quickly and easily brighten up dull or dirty patches that should be white and produce really white socks - a favourite for competitors at horse shows! Supreme Products Leg & Body Whitener can be used both wet or dry to bring up white patches, legs and bodies on horses. Everyone has a preferred way of applying their favourite showing product and the ritual never changes for applying it from event to event, but there is always more than one way to apply these products. This guide to Supreme Product’s Leg & Body Whitener shows some of the ways that this product can be used.

1) You can add Supreme Products Leg & Body Whitener to your final rinsing water whilst bathing your horse. This helps to brighten the white on the body adding that final ‘clean’ shine. It also makes dappling and markings more significant.

2) Supreme Products Leg & Body Whitener can be mixed with water to a make a paste. Most people mix until the paste is of a yoghurt consistency. Apply the paste with a paint brush and then bandage the legs up whilst they are still wet and leave on the legs until just before your event. You don’t need to do anything after removing the bandages. However gently brushing the excess dust/powder off can help to smarten them up.

Another tip is to use thick gamgees (bandage pads). By using thin gamgees or just plain bandages ‘wrinkle’ marks are sometimes left on the dry legs.

3) You can use Supreme Products Leg & Body Whitener in dry form on wet legs – this time wash the legs but just get off the excess water; then again using a brush, work in the dry powder onto the wet legs and bandage as above.

4) Sometimes just a quick touch up is needed; maybe just before a class or event. To do this place some Supreme Products Leg & Body Whitener on a slightly damp sponge and dab and rub into the legs or spots you need to ‘touch up’ or brighten. Make sure the sponge isn’t too damp as you don’t want to have problems with the product dripping!

5) Supreme Products Leg & Body Whitener can also be rubbed straight into the legs of your horse. This is great for hiding stains or just brightening up the horses white patches, then brushing the excess powder gently off the legs will help make it all neat.
